SMILE Radio Amateur Antenna
The ESOC-3 antenna is capable of receiving both commercial (2200-2300 MHz) and amateur (circa 2400 – 2500 MHz) S-band.
The antenna is transportable, i.e. it does not require any permanent support structure, connectivity nor power supply and can be easily dismantled and moved to a new location. The backend is stored in a cabinet located next to the antenna and can use wireless connectivity for monitoring and control.
A unique feature of the antenna is that users will be able to modify relevant software (APU, receiver, etc.), therefore allowing to support specific experiments and/or tailored configuration.
