Responsibilities:

  • Develop the Directorate’s Innovation Strategy
  • Define and implement ESOC’s innovation governance based on best practices
  • Lead the Directorate-wide innovation matrix organisation
  • Manage the innovation budget
  • Search for emerging innovation opportunities
  • Develop internal and external innovation networks and strategic partnerships
  • Foster a pro-innovation culture

Innovation Management Committee

Responsibilities:

  • Implement the innovation strategy
  • Identify knowledge repositories and experts relevant to innovation both inside and outside ESOC
  • Ideate on how identified opportunities shall be translated into actions through, e.g. facilitated experimentation, maturation, funnelling and deployment of results
  • Collaborate with competence and application domains, technology programmes, innovation champions
  • Identify and the development ESOC/ESA wide and external relations in order to cultivate and sustain an innovation ecosystem
  • Organise and evaluation of innovation or promotional events
  • Deploy the most suitable tools to support innovation activities
  • Advise the Innovation Officer and the Management Team on allocation of resources for innovation activities
  • Propose the allocation of Internal Research Fellows @ESOC
  • Develop streamlined processes for the above-mentioned activities
